Bob's Watches Fresh Finds - July 2020

Last month, Bob's Watches introduced a new auction platform where people could register and bid on some of the rarest, most desirable and hard-to-get vintage watches. June's auction was full of incredibly rare vintage Rolex timepieces, with all pieces being sold.

This month, Bob's Watches will be unveiling four horological treasures for you to bid on, including a stunning Omega Speedmaster and a gorgeous Rolex Submariner with a gilt dial. This will be the first time ever that these incredibly well preserved watches have ever been offered at an auction, so you know they've never been shopped around from buyer to buyer. The auction will begin on 28/7/2020 at 9 am PDT. And like last month's auction, there will be no buyer's premium, meaning what you bid is what you will pay. Happy shopping!

All prices are in USD and all images are supplied by Bob’s Watches

Lot 1: Omega Speedmaster 105.003

One of the most coveted references, the 105.003 "Ed White" Speedmaster is the last of the straight-lug "Pre-Professional" Speedmaster models. The 105.003 was also the watch worn by many astronauts during the Gemini missions, and was also worn during the first American spacewalk, resulting in its now iconic "Ed White" nickname. This particular model is in fantastic condition with all original components.

Auction Estimate: $14,000 - $23,000

Lot 2: Rolex GMT-Master II 1675

Lot 2 features a Rolex GMT-Master II 1675 with a gilt gloss "Swiss Only" dial, creamy yellow lume plots and hands and a stainless steel PCG case. The Pepsi bezel retains the original fat font which has faded to a lighter shade of blue and red. This model has maintained incredibly well and has developed into a true treasure.

Auction Estimate: $20,000 - $35,000

Lot 3: Rolex Submariner 5512

The Rolex Submariner is an icon of watchmaking, and the 5512 was the first watch that took on the legendary form of the contemporary Submariner. This particular model originates from 1961 and features a gloss gilt dial with an exclamation chapter ring dial with a stainless steel PCG case. It's in excellent condition and has all of its original components.

Auction Estimate: $25,000 - $35,000

Lot 4: Rolex Explorer 1016

The explorer is the original Rolex sports watch, embodying a casual yet classical look that has resonated through the ages since its introduction to the market in 1953. This particular model has aged gracefully and features an original glossy gilt chapter ring exclamation dial with creamy hour markers and hands. It also features the original stainless steel case and the original smooth bezel.

Auction Estimate: $15,000 - $25,000
