One Brand Watch Collecting: Cartier, Chopard and Czapek.

Next up in this series of one brand watch collections comes in the form of the 3 C's in Cartier, Chopard and Czapek. All three of these watchmakers have pedigree, heritage and deep archival collections that made this task almost laughably easy.

The Cartier selections revolved around its rectangular pieces, the L.U.C and Alpine Eagle dominated Chopard's collection choices, while Czapek proved to be the most challenging given its abundance of incredible timepieces.

You can find out more about the structure of this series here so you can get up to speed.

Stay tuned for the next batch which will include De Bethune, F. P. Journe and Frederique Constant. And if you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comment section below or on Instagram.

Cartier

There could be no other choice here as Cartier's daily driver in the Santos De Cartier. In this green guise it is absolutely spectacular, and paired with that iconic steel bracelet you have a very practical daily watch that can be dressed up rather easily.

The Tank Louis Cartier is a personal favourite of mine and it's a piece that I hope to one day own, so of course I was going to be including it in Cartier's submission. Beautiful proportions, lines, edges and curves, the Tank Louis Cartier is a discreet yet wholly beautiful piece to wear in any dressed up setting.

The Santos De Cartier Gold with the satin-finished gradated gold sunray brushed dial is my pick for Cartier's weekender piece. Imagine wearing this heaving hunk of metal on your wrist down at your local cafe. Bling, but not overtly so.

Like the Tank Louis Cartier, the Tank Asymétrique is a bona fide grail of mine. Perhaps a little too far out of reach for me, this is one of the ultimate Cartier watches to own and was the prime choice for the wildcard pick.

Chopard

Chopard's Alpine Eagle 41 has made waves through the watch collecting community, fronting as a seriously interesting timepiece that seems to cover all bases. Wear it as a dress watch, a weekender or your daily driver, the Alpine Eagle 41 goes above and beyond to deliver on all fronts. Love it.

I found the dress segment the hardest to pick from for Chopard, purely for the fact that there were so many viable options to choose from. The  L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 stood out of me for a few reasons, but mainly because of how avant garde it looks all while being dressy enough to pair with a tuxedo.

The Alpine Eagle 41 is epic, and the Ethical Rose Gold variant is just as good, if not better. Paired with a green dial, the Alpine Eagle 41 Ethical Rose Gold is Chopard's ultimate weekender and it's a piece that I was fortunate enough to handle in the metal a while back so can definitely attest to its quality.

Chopard's L.U.C Perpetual Twin is perhaps the most practical of all my wildcard picks, but I just felt its inclusion was necessitated purely by the fact of how good of a watch it is. Not a wildcard per se, but a watch that is more than deserving of its rotational place in this list.

Czapek

Czapek's Antarctique Passage de Drake is an ode to the maisons ability to create something that can go toe-to-toe with the big boys, as they say. The stainless steel integrated bracelet crowd has kind of got a foothold on the industry, so having an independently made version in the Antarctique Passage de Drake is super refreshing.

The new Promenade Goutte D'Eau is bringing back all that we know and love about blue watches. Dressy but not so much that its wear is restricted to formal events, the Promenade Goutte D'Eau is supremely beautifully and exceptionally well finished.

Why wouldn't you want to wear a split-seconds chronograph on the weekend?

Let's go all out for Czapek's wildcard pick with the Place Vendôme Complicité Stardust Cobalt . Fans of inverted dials and exposed movements will rejoice with the Place Vendôme Complicité Stardust Cobalt, as will connoisseurs of superlative finishing..
