Watches Of The Week: 20/01/2025 - 26/01/2025

Dimitri Tsilioris

Another week done and dusted, another round up of all the new watch releases in the next Watches Of The Week edition. The week that was featured an exciting assortment of new watches, particularly because LVMH Watch Week was in full effect. I had the pleasure of attending a pre-launch breakfast at Bondi's iconic Icebergs, where I was treated to some wonderful new drops from Zenith, TAG Heuer and Hublot.

Beyond that, we have new watches unveiled from Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton and Hermès, along with what could very well be the spectacle of 2025, with Greubel Forsey unveiling its Hand Made 2, some six years since the highly acclaimed Hand Made 1 was introduced.

Have a great week ahead #watchfam.

  • Case: 40.90mm x 12.80mm

  • Case Material: White gold

  • Water Resistance: 30m

  • Movement: Hand Made 2

Greubel Forsey has unveiled its latest creation, the Hand Made 2, a testament to traditional watchmaking craftsmanship. This new watch features a white gold case measuring 40.9mm in diameter and 12.8mm in height, housing a movement that displays hours, minutes, small seconds, and a power reserve indicator. Remarkably, 96% of its 270 components are crafted by hand using traditional tools, excluding only the sapphire crystals, case gaskets, spring bars, mainspring, and most jewels. Each part is manually machined to tolerances of just a few microns, achieving precision comparable to modern CNC machines. The movement is made from hand-frosted German silver, with polished chamfers and all surfaces, even hidden ones, are decorated to the best possible level. The Hand Made 2 is a four-hand watch with hours, minutes, a small seconds counter, and a power reserve indicator. The latter uses a hand-cut conical synthetic ruby and a roller to display the remaining energy of the barrel, which has a total power reserve of 72 hours. The movement exhibits extremely refined decoration, yet a certain subtleness, without unnecessary demonstrations. Each timepiece requires over 5,000 hours of manual labor to manufacture, finish, and assemble, resulting in an annual production of only two to three watches, underscoring its exclusivity. Priced at CHF 620,000, the Hand Made 2 exemplifies the pinnacle of haute horology, appealing to connoisseurs seeking unparalleled craftsmanship in a new watch.

TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox Purple Editions
