Watches of the Week: 21/03/2022 - 27/03/2022

Welcome back to Watches of the Week, our regular series where we cover all the new watch releases of the past seven days. This week was dominated by the release of the highly anticipated collaboration between Omega and Swatch in the MoonSwatch, but don't let that overshadow the amazing new pieces from Breguet, Urwerk and H. Moser & Cie. Oh, and don't forget to check back in for our coverage of Watches & Wonders too. Enjoy!

Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch

Omega broke the watchmaking world when it announced and then released its MoonSwatch timepiece made in collaboration with Swatch. Eleven distinctly different models were released, each one representing one of the celestial bodies of our Solar System. While each model had a different aesthetic, they all had a similar look and feel, being made from BIOCERAMIC and featuring the same dial layout. Available for now in Swatch stores only and priced at $380AUD. At the time of print they were all sold out, but they are not limited edition so we can expect more to be made available soon.

Urwerk UR-100V TIme and Culture I

New from Urwerk is the UR-100V TIme and Culture I, which features a copper-coloured steel and titanium case stylised with a "Sun Stone" motif, one of the most emblematic works of Aztec art. The Urwerk UR-100V TIme and Culture I continues on the maison's iconicity by the use of its distinct time display powered by the UR12.02 movement. Limited to 20 pieces and priced at 68,000CHF.

H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Centre Seconds Lime Green

H. Moser & Cie has redeveloped its acclaimed fumé aesthetic, this time utilising a Grand Feu enamel dial and finishing it off with a hammered texture, giving the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green a distinct look and feel that differentiates itself from the other fumé models. The other distinguishable difference with the H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green is that red seconds hand, indicating that it is powered by the HMC 200 automatic calibre which has a Straumann Double Hairspring®.

Breguet Marine Hora Mundi 5557

New from Breguet is the Marine Hora Mundi 5557, the latest addition to the maison's Marine collection. Featuring four patents and taking three years to develop, the Breguet Marine Hora Mundi 5557 has the innate ability to instantly change its dual-time displays by using a memory function. All of this is done by the pusher and crown, whereby following a fairly simple process the user is able to see two times almost instantly. The dial features hand-guilloché waves, a sunburst blue base, satin brushed continents and coastlines outlined with a metallic turquoise border. Available in either white or rose gold, the Breguet Marine Hora Mundi 5557 is the ultimate expression of lux wear and complicated watchmaking.
